Vibe-Coded Games

Vibe-coding, also known as AI-assisted programming, is a creative way of making software using natural language instead of traditional code. By describing what you want in plain English, AI tools help turn ideas into working games, apps, and experiments.

At The Nelson AI Sandbox, we promote vibe-coding as a way to lower the barrier to learning, making programming more accessible, more playful, and more human.

This page showcases games created during our Vibe-athons alongside projects built by our community and facilitators, all made to explore what happens when creativity leads and code follows. Try them out yourself below!

Note: Games are designed for Mouse + Keyboard and may not work on mobile devices

Vibe-athon 1.0

New Zealand’s first Vibe-athon (Vibe-Coding Hackathon) was hosted by the Nelson AI Sandbox and NMIT in November 2025.

Teams had several hours to develop a game from scratch. With the goal of teaching the player about an aspect of Artificial Intelligence.

Try them out yourself and see if you can learn something new!

Community Games

These games were developed by members of the Nelson AI Sandbox community. They’ve given us permission to host them here for you to try them out!

Some of them include links to their original vibe-coding project, so you can get your own copy to vibe-code with your own changes and additions!
