The gap this closes
Most people with a work Copilot licence use it for one or two things. Finding an email. Maybe a quick summary. The rest of what they’re paying for sits there untouched.
This workshop is about the rest. Not a getting-started session, and not a feature tour app by app. Three hours on how Copilot actually carries the work you already do, across the tools you already have open.
What you’ll do
The workshop follows one realistic working day, and shows Copilot carrying a single thread of work all the way through it.
You’re back from two weeks leave. There are 150 emails in the inbox, a budget meeting this morning you’ve missed all the context on, and a board report and slide deck due tomorrow. Over three hours you’ll work through it:
One piece of work moving across Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, the way it happens on a real Monday rather than in isolated demos.
Then you’ll look at Copilot agents and what they could do in your organisation. You’ll build a simple one: a helper that draws on your policies and staff handbook, so people can ask “how do I apply for leave”, “what’s our policy on working from home” or “where’s the process for sick leave” and get an answer, instead of hunting through SharePoint or asking the person next to them. It’s a small build, and it shows what’s possible once you stop treating Copilot as a search box. You’ll see how agents work, where they earn their keep, and what to weigh up before making one.
We’ll touch on prompting, but lightly. If you’ve got a licence and you’re here, you’re past the basics.
Who it’s for
People who already have a Microsoft Copilot licence, usually provided by their employer, and want to get more out of it. If you’ve been poking at Copilot in Outlook or Teams and you can tell there’s more there than you’re reaching, this is pitched at you.
Not for complete beginners, and not for people who already use Copilot heavily across every app. If that’s you, this will cover ground you know.
It doesn’t matter what you do. The examples are built around everyday office work, so they carry across whatever your role is.
What you’ll leave with
A way of looking at your own working day and spotting where Copilot can take the load, plus a prompt sheet to take with you so you’re not trying to remember it all from the screen.
Your facilitator
Chelcie Phillips is a Digital Workplace Consultant at First Focus, where she delivers Microsoft 365 training focused on better workplace communication and collaboration. She spends her days helping teams use technology properly, not just switch it on.
What to bring
A laptop with your work Copilot licence signed in, so you can follow along hands-on. We’ll send a few files to download beforehand. Keep them in your Downloads or on your Desktop, not tucked away in SharePoint, so they’re easy to reach on the day.
Curious about what a Copilot licence can actually do but don’t have one yet? You’re welcome to come and watch.
